Thailand

Friendly and fun loving, exotic and tropical, cultured and historic, Thailand radiates a golden hue from its glittering temples and tropical beaches through to the ever-comforting Thai smile.

Popular Attractions

Bangkok: Bangkok, also known as the City of Angels and Venice of the East, will hit you like a ton of bricks. Hot, polluted, and chaotic, it thrills with energy, and the sightseeing, shopping, and eating possibilities are so vast that you’ll have little time to rest. When you do find a moment, though, you can pamper yourself at spas, skyline-view bars, luxurious hotels, and excellent restaurants.

Some Popular Places

  • Golden Budha Temple
  • Gems Gallery
  • Temple of Reclining Budha
  • Madam Tussauds Museum
  • Safari world and Marine Park
  • Floating markets
  • Siam Park City
  • Museum of Contemporary Art

Pattaya : Multicultural Pattaya boasts some excellent places to stay and eat, and the area is also a family-friendly resort coast. Nevertheless, the city itself is no tropical paradise; its reputation as a sex capital is totally deserved, with hundreds of beer bars, go-go clubs and massage parlors. Much of the rest is dedicated to mass-market sun-seeking tourism, with a huge retired expat population, and enormous tour groups hurried through town in an almost constant stream. For a relaxing stay in Pattaya, base yourself outside the central area.

Krabi : Bustling Krabi Town is majestically situated among impossibly angular limestone karst formations jutting from the mangroves, but mid-city you’re more likely to be awe-struck by the sheer volume of guesthouses and travel agencies packed into this compact town. It’s a key transport hub, around which a busy traveller scene continues to evolve. There’s no shortage of restaurants, or gift shops selling the usual trinkets.

Some Popular Places

  • Phi – Phi Island
  • Ko Poda
  • Ko Phi Phi le
  • Tiger Crave Temple
  • Maya bay
  • Mu ko Lanta National Park

Ko Samui: Ko Samui has pretty much something for everyone. Backpackers can eke out bungalows, hammocks and cheap beer, sun seekers can hunt down fine stretches of sand clogged with beach loungers, while the luxury market continues to grow, luring the top-end dollar. There are rubbish-free roads, world-class international cuisine, exclusive spas and beach bar parties for scantily clad 20-somethings that start at noon. The mood swings from brash and noisy Chaweng to hearing the soft thud of a coconut falling on deserted sands.
